  Kerstin Anita Marianne Ekberg (Swedish pronunciation (listen) 29 September 1931 - 11 January 2015) was an Swedish actress who appeared in American and European films, famous for her beauty and striking silhouette. Her role as Sylvia, in Federico Fellini's film La Dolce Vita (1960) was a hit and made her famous. Ekberg was born in Sweden on the 29th of September 1931. She was the sixth child of eight. In her teens, Anita worked as a fashion model. Ekberg took part in the Miss Malmo competition in 1950 following the advice of her mother. This led to her being selected for the Miss Sweden contest which she was crowned. Despite speaking very little English, she went to the United States to compete for the 1951 Miss Universe title (an unofficial pageant in that period, the pageant was officially launched in 1952). Nicole Scherzinger, born June 29, 1978 in Honolulu, was raised in Louisville. While in a performing arts high school, she took home the Coca-Cola Classic Talent Contest & participated in several plays at The Actors Theatre of Louisville. When she completed her studies at Wright State University, she majored in theater arts. In the following year, she appeared on the WB's inaugural season of the television show Popstars 2000.
