Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actor also a
director, actor, and musician. She has directed a number of episodes of TV such
as Chicago Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). Milena served as the
Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf’s CBS show FBI (2018) and is currently
in the process of completing two pilots. Milena was selected as one of the
eight directors for AFI's highly acclaimed Directing Workshop for Women.
Unspeakable was her television series as well as a short film. With Jeff Kober
and Laura Vandervoort the film was awarded the Best Episodic Award at Seattle
International Film Festival as well as Best Pilot at the SoHo International
Film Festival. The short film she made, Temporary (2017) has been shown across
the country and won Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark
Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest as well as the Director's Choice Award at Sedona
International Film Festival. As an actor Milena has been featured in more than
100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love
Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of
Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her first appearance
on CBS. She then became the only female detective in Law & Order
(1990). She has been featured or recurred on several other shows, including
K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009)
(ABC Family) as well as on the show Finding Carter as Lori Stevens on the MTV
drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has also been featured in various films,
including Sordid Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011) in which she starred
opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) The #Lucky Number (2015) which
starred with Method Man; and the films Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and
The Cleaner (2021). Milena is a native of Norman, Oklahoma was the
valedictorian in her high-school, but before that, she graduated with two major
vocal performances and premed at the University of Central Oklahoma. She also
graduated valedictorian. Soon after, she capitalized on her ballet education to
appear on Broadway in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production of
"Cabaret" in Studio 54.
